July, Unfinished
Sabnam Lama in conversation with Jaheen Faruque Amin

July 2024 was not just a handover; it was an uprising written in rage and breath. Bangladesh in July was a real event, a historic rupture. Walls became public manifesto, layered with graffiti that defied the old order and imagined a fairer one built on order, accountability, and justice. Revolutions begin in color and noise, but they must end in institutions.

As the paint fades, we face a hard truth: corruption does not vanish; it only changes uniform. The interim arrangement, drifting without moral direction, already echoes what it promised to end. “July, Unfinished” returns to those walls as both archives of public art, national conscience, and attempts to critically examine the public sphere.
