Jambure Ghang: Reading Circle
November 29, 2025

- 3:00 pm
Through the story of a Maam (grandmother in Tamang Language) defending her land in Bojheni amid land grabs, police intimidation, and the looming threat of displacement from a hydropower transmission line, we explore how land, women, and Indigenous resistance intersect.
This Reading Circle by FIG is part of PhotoKTM6 and invites audiences to collectively read excerpts, rethink dominant narratives of “development,” and honor the everyday courage of Indigenous women who protect their land, memory, and home.

Jambure Ghang is a feature story written by Babita Tamang as part of her Indigenous Media Fellowship 2025 at FIG. Her work was displayed back in August ’25 during the exhibition “युल-सा, साप्राला ह्याङ्” also organized by FIG.
