The Confluence Collective is a collaboration of photographers and research scholars from Sikkim and the Darjeeling Hills, India. Their objective is to bridge the gap that exists in the discourse of the region—its uniqueness and identity – through the medium of visual storytelling. Through close engagements with the local community, they work towards keeping their tradition and essence of storytelling alive. Afterall ‘guff’ lies in the heart of the Pahari way of life, and is also a rich repository of history, culture, tradition and collective existence. The collectives hopes to build a strong creative and collaborative platform fostering a culture of knowledge production and sharing from the margins. Their members include Ashwin Sharma, Brihat Rai, Dipti Tamang, Kunga Tashi, Mridu Rai, Praveen Chettri and Shivam Darnal.
