Dr Alan Hill is a photographer, educator, and researcher specialising in visual politics and photography education. He is a Senior Lecturer in Photography at the RMIT School of Art in Naarm/Melbourne. With a background in documentary practice, Alan's research focuses on the civil potential of photography and the development of transdisciplinary approaches to visual storytelling, including through the Doing Visual Politics Network, of which he is a co-founder. The network explores creative practice as civil action through collaborative workshops and symposiums that challenge conventional approaches to documentary photography education.
