Sabnam Lama, is a 22-year-old from the Tamang community in Kavrepalanchowk! She’s a passionate advocate for Indigenous young women and is currently pursuing her studies in Psychology and Social Work at St. Xavier's College. As the leader of the Focus for Indigenous Girls (FIG), she creates peer led spaces where Indigenous girls can share their stories and build their advocacy skills together for the larger movement building.

Right now, Sabnam is rolling up her sleeves to ensure an inclusive national building process in Nepal through the Gen-Z Movement. She’s making sure that Indigenous Gen-Z voices are heard and included in important negotiations with the interim government. To do this, she’s actively involved in a newly formed Indigenous Gen-Z Collective which also works with GenZ Movement Alliance.

In the past couple of years, Sabnam has dived into multiple youth and policy engaging championing the rights of Indigenous women and girls both in the Asia-Pacific region and at the UN. She holds the #IndigenousDaughter campaign close to her heart, loves Indigenous tattoos, and is always there for Indigenous women and girls as they strive for their land rights.
