Nad E Ali is an artist based in Lahore. Ali’s practice moves between photography, sound and the archive. Rooted in personal and collective memory, often, their works begin with what is found: a photograph, an object, a ritual before unfolding into newer forms of storytelling; books, zines and installations.
Ali’s ongoing initiative – Tasveer – nurtures independent photographic voices and builds connections across South Asia: creating shared spaces for dialogue and collaboration. Their recent exhibitions include Carrying Home on Our Backs, curated by Akshay Mahajan at Platforms Project, Athens (2025); Gathering Grounds (Ijtimai Baniyadein), curated by Abdullah Qureshi, Lahore (2025); and A Gentle Apocalypse, curated by Saher Sohail at the Indus Conclave, Lahore (2025).
Through their practice, Ali traces fragile acts of remembering and reimagining; how images hold both intimacy and inheritance across time.
