Bakudapan Food Study Group has been working at the intersection of art, pedagogy, and critical practice since 2015. We are eight members with diverse backgrounds ; artists, researchers, curators, educators, and cultural practitioners; whose different experiences shape our collective methods and tools.
From the beginning, our aim has been to create a space for experimenting with ways of studying together, using food as an entry point to open broader questions of ecology, gender, class, race, and social politics. Beyond treating food as a core subject, we also use it as a method of practice. Our work takes shape through a variety of formats, including workshops, solidarity platforms, board games, installations, object-based works, videos, and publications.
