Claudio Pérez, documentary photographer and graphic designer, was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1957. He lived in self-imposed exile outside Chile between 1979 and 1983. He has received several national and international awards for photojournalism. He has given talks at the Houston Photography Festival and the University of Austin, Texas, at the Thessaloniki Biennial, Greece, and at SACO, Chile. He has received scholarships from the Erna & Víctor Hasselblad Foundation and the Magnum Foundation. Curator of the exhibition "Chile 30 Years 1973-2003" in Rome and Chile. International jury member of the 10th Ibero-American New Journalism Foundation Competition, Colombia. He conducts "Mankasen" photography workshops for children at the Pablo Neruda House Museum in Isla Negra. He has participated in the Biennial of Contemporary Art at the Thessaloniki Museum in Greece SACO Art Contemporary, Chile.

He received the Santiago Municipality Literature Prize in the Photo Publishing category for her book "Qhapaq Ñan-Atacama."
