Frédéric Lecloux is a Belgian-French autodidact photographer and writer. He was born in 1972 in Brussels and has been based in Nyons, Drôme, France since 2001. He belatedly graduated from the École nationale supérieure de la Photographie in Arles (2016).
He works as an associate publisher at Le Bec en l’air photobook publisher (Marseille) and has been a regular workshop teacher at photo.circle in Kathmandu. He is a recipient of the CNAP Documentary Photography Grant (France) in 2015 for his project with the families of Nepalese migrant workers in Qatar, and a laureate of the Leverhulme Trust Artist in residence grant in 2016 for his project with the Nepalese community in Nottingham. Frédéric Lecloux’s photographic work has been distributed by VU’ Agency in Paris since 2003.
He is the author of, among other books, Nepal, Epiphanies of the everyday (नेपाल, दैनिक दिव्यझान) (2017), Brumes à venir (2012), L’Usure du Monde (2008), all published by Le Bec en l’air, and Katmandou 2058 (La Renaissance du Livre, 2003).
